Police in East China on Tuesday issued an unusual notice supporting a female courier who just couldn't make amends to a client who complained to her company about poor service.
Police found the courier, Nie Guiying, crying at a customer's doorstep on Tuesday evening in Guangrao county, Shandong Province. The customer, surnamed Zhang, had called the police and Nie's company to complain about her misconduct, even though she got on her knees to beg for forgiveness for a problem that was not her fault.
A police investigation found that Nie had delivered a package of mangoes to Zhang that was poorly sealed. Zhang claimed one mango was missing from the package, according to the police notice.
In an attempt to appease Zhang, Nie bought a box of mangoes but Zhang was still not satisfied and even complained four times to Nie's company, which cut 2,000 yuan ($290) out of her salary.
Nie came to beg for forgiveness on Tuesday, fearing she would be fired if her company received one more complaint, and that's when the police weighed in.
The police notice said Nie had done nothing wrong, and asked the company to return the 2,000 yuan it had docked Nie's pay and give her a reward. The police notice suggested the delivery company blacklist the customer.
