A man surnamed Wang from Yanji, Northeast China's Jilin Province, is undoubtedly his colleagues' favorite co-worker after his company's facial recognition clock-in system malfunctioned.

According to a video clip posted on a WeChat official account, the facial recognition clock-in machine could not recognize Wang when he registered his arrival at work, but mistook his face for many of his colleagues, both men and women.

Wang also tried to use his fingerprint to access the system, but the machine couldn't identify him with that method either.

Many of his colleagues asked him to clock in for them so they wouldn't be caught being late.

Other employees however, weren't so happy about Wang's odd talent at fooling facial recognition machines.

They discovered that when Wang clocked out after his shift, they too were determined to be off work at the same time as Wang and were never paid for the overtime they had put in.

Some netizens laughed at the WeChat post saying Wang's face must be very average looking.

"The employees of the company are all related," wrote a netizen, suggesting that Wang's every-man's facial features must be part of a local bloodline.

"The firm that produced this facial recognition machine must be very nervous about the malfunction. They must want this video to be deleted as soon as possible," was another comment.

Wang was still able to help his colleagues' clock-in to work on Thursday.
