Six Chinese movies that were selected for the Pingyao International Film Festival will be screened in Paris starting Wednesday, according to the organizing committee of the festival.
The audience in Paris cannot only watch movies, including
Youth by well-known Chinese director Feng Xiaogang, but communicate with the filmmakers in the theater of the MK2 Bibliotheque during the one-week-long movie event, the organizing committee said Tuesday.
This is the first time that the movies selected for the film festival are screened overseas.
The film festival is scheduled to be held from October 10 to 19 in Pingyao, a 2,700-year-old city and a World Cultural Heritage site in North China's Shanxi Province, which was initiated by Chinese filmmaker Jia Zhangke.
