Energy consumption per capita in China's public institutions dropped 7.87 percent from 2015 to 2018, the People's Daily reported Wednesday.
Citing statistics from the National Government Offices Administration (NGOA), the paper said the water consumption per capita saw a decrease of 9.11 percent during the period.
In the meantime, the energy use intensity of public institution buildings also dropped 6.13 percent to 19.29 kg standard coal per unit of floor area.
Since 2016, public institutions nationwide have carried out energy-saving renovation buildings of a total of 22 million square meters, according to the NGOA.
This year's National Low-carbon Day falls on Wednesday and the National Energy Efficiency Promotion Week will last until Sunday.
