A 66-meter-long and two-meter-high replica of a famous ancient Chinese painting made from two million Lego bricks is set to be shown off Sunday in Shenyang, Northeast China's Liaoning Province.
Jiang Shenghui, the first Lego certified professional in the Chinese mainland, and his seven-member team took eight months to complete the replica of the painting named Along the River during the Qingming Festival, The Beijing News reported Saturday.
Jiang said the replica was also meant as a tribute to traditional Chinese culture.
"How to fit the brightly-colored Lego bricks in this simple but elegant painting became the biggest challenge," Jiang said.
The replica may have also set a new Guinness World Record.
The original painting was created by Zhang Zeduan of the Song dynasty (960-1279) on silk.
