Disney's live-action remake of its classic animated film The Lion King led the Chinese mainland box office for a sixth day on Wednesday, according to China Movie Data Information Network on Thursday.
The ambitious blockbuster filled with computer-generated animals grossed 22.80 million yuan ($3.3 million) at the box office on Wednesday, accounting for about 36 percent of the daily total.
This film has earned a total of 486 million yuan since its premiere on July 12.
The White Storm 2: Drug Lords, the sequel to the 2013 crime action film The White Storm, took second place with a daily box office take of 16.20 million yuan.
Coming in third was domestic film Looking Up, which raked in 9.06 million yuan.
