"Ne Zha," a Chinese animated film, continued to lead the Chinese mainland box office on Monday, the China Movie Data Information Network said Tuesday.
The film grossed 184.99 million yuan (about 27 million US dollars), accounting for over 80 percent of the daily total. That pushed the film's total box office to more than 900 million yuan.
It tells of the birth and growing up of Nezha, a mythical male figure widely known as the incarnation of a lotus.
"Ne Zha" was followed by Chinese family drama "Looking Up" and Disney's "The Lion King," which raked in 24.05 million yuan and 6.73 million yuan, respectively.
