A video of a tiny bundle of grey fur with pert little ears, attentive unblinking eyes and a love of crunchy treats has made "Ahdai" perhaps the world's most famous Chinchilla.  

In multiple scenes in a video, Ahdai sits on its haunches and stares straight into the camera and munches. 

The owner, in Benxi in Northeast China's Liaoning Province, also placed a microphone directly under the treat and the delightful and deliberate crunch, crunch, crunch shows Ahdai to be a very well-mannered eater. It even pauses between mouthfuls seemingly contemplating something important.       

"Chinchillas have a tendency to go into a trance, and this one spends a lot of time in a trance, making him even cuter," said the pet owner who wasn't named in a video posted Saturday on Sina Weibo by The Beijing News. 

"It's healing to watch him eat and stare off in the distance," said the owner. 

Her video also shows Ahdai holding a tiny sign in its human-like little hand that simply reads: I'm a chinchilla.  

Ahdai is just eight months old and has become a leading food blogger on kuaishou.com, a popular Chinese broadcast platform. 

The topic of Ahdai's video has been viewed 12 million times as of press time.

"Ahdai is so cute and his dazing eyes leave me breathless," posted one Sina Weibo user.
