Chinese artist Xing Qingren is expressing his love of his hometown of Xi'an in Northwest China's Shaanxi Province (once known as Chang'an) with an exhibition of paintings featuring the landscape and people there at National Art Museum of China.
I Come from Chang'an is not just the name of the exhibition, but also represents the mindset of people like Xing who spent decades in the place and have formed their own unique culture.
Xing and his peers have talked with locals and recorded their lives in paintings such as
Yellow River,
Dialogue over the Moon and
People Sitting Together. It is set to run until Sunday.
