Several Chinese ambassadors have strongly criticized foreign forces' gross interference in Hong Kong and condemned ongoing violence in the city.
Articles were written by Chinese ambassadors to Morocco, Qatar, Lebanon, Kuwait, Palestine, Egypt and Iran, and were published in local mainstream media in recent days.
In the article published on Tuesday on Le360, a French-language website in Morocco, Chinese Ambassador to Morocco Li Li said that Hong Kong affairs are an internal matter for China and should not be interfered with by any external forces.
He also mentioned that "one country, two systems" is the best institutional arrangement for maintaining Hong Kong's long-term prosperity and stability.
Zhou Jian, Chinese Ambassador to Qatar, also condemned the violence in Hong Kong and the false reports by some Western media outlets such as the BBC and CNN in his article published on the Qatar Tribune's front page on Tuesday.
Echoing Zhou, Chinese Ambassador to Britain Liu Xiaoming also said on August 16 that the Western media is partly responsible for the current situation in Hong Kong as it has failed to report the situation authentically and objectively.
Zhou also accused US politicians of meddling in Hong Kong in the name of freedom and democracy in order to halt the rise of China.
Zhou noted that it is not difficult to see that countries interfered in by the US like Libya, Syria, Iraq and Yemen have all ended up in riots, recession and devastation.
As early as August 2, Cui Tiankai, Chinese Ambassador to the US, published a signed article in US magazine Newsweek, pointing out that some ill-intentioned forces both inside and outside Hong Kong are trying to sabotage Hong Kong's rule of law and threaten the bottom line of "one country two systems."
"China's determination to safeguard sovereignty, security, and development interests and to implement "one country two systems" for Hong Kong's prosperity and stability is unwavering," Cui said.
Zhang Hanhui, Chinese Ambassador to Russia, said to the media on August 14 that foreign forces are maliciously plotting a "color revolution" in Hong Kong, saying that Hong Kong affairs are China's internal affairs, and China will never tolerate any outside interference.
