The White House said Friday Kuwaiti Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah will visit Washington on Sept. 12.
According to a statement, the visit will further strengthen the substantial economic and security ties between the two countries, and leaders of both countries are expected to discuss regional developments, bilateral security cooperation, and counter-terrorism issues.
The visit came amid high tensions between the United States and Iran in the Middle East. Kuwait has pledged its efforts to help stabilize the region.
