Domestic drama film "Better Days" led the Chinese mainland box office Sunday, raking in more than 196 million yuan (about 28 million US dollars) on its third day, the China Movie Data Information Network said Monday.
The film, directed by Derek Tsang, tells the story of two high school students whose fates were changed by an accident.
It was followed by "Maleficent: Mistress of Evil," which grossed 19.71 million yuan on the tenth day of screening.
Coming in third was "The Captain," a cinematic portrayal of a miraculous emergency landing of the Sichuan Airlines flight 3U8633 in May 2018. It pocketed 17.80 million yuan on the 28th day of its screening.
