The 2019 UCI Urban Cycling World Championships will be held from Thursday to Sunday at the Xinhua Park in Chengdu, capital of Southwest China's Sichuan Province.

The UCI world championships will feature three disciplines: BMX freestyle, BMX flatland and trials.

The BMX freestyle competition will also be a qualifying event for the 2020 Tokyo Games, as the discipline will make its debut at the Olympics.

It is the third time for Chengdu to host the event, as the city rides a wave of sports. The Chenghua district, which the park locates, also hosted the FIE Women's Epee World Cup this year.
