Victor Ma, a young designer and curator, has transformed a commercial space in Sanlitun into a mini exhibition for his ideas about fashion and illustration.
The new exhibition
KVADRAT/RAF SIMONS features showcases from the young curator, including an example of a living area and in-home studio. Area 1 sees a mixture of an ideal living room, recording studio and balcony, while Area II represents the designer's thoughts toward the environment.
"Disrupt and reconstruct is the core essence of everything I create, regardless if it's music or my philosophy on being a young, lost human-being... My purpose as an artist is to swim against the 'tide' - the ways and rules I was taught since I was young. In conclusion, I enjoy the process of destroying and rebuilding my birth identity," Ma said in a statement.
The exhibition is set to run until December 29.
