China's CPI was up 0.5% in October, the first time the index went below 1% since March 2017

China's CPI was up 0.5% year-on-year in October, compared with 1.7% in the previous month. Food prices fell 1.8%, compared to an increase of 0.4% last month. It marked the first time the index – a gauge of inflation— went below 1% since March 2017.
