After trying out a special machine that simulates a girl's period pain, it is safe to say that male students at a local college in Zhengzhou, Central China's Henan Province, did not like it one bit.
In a video circulating on China's social media, male students who attached the machine to their stomachs for the "experience" were seen furrowing their brows and twisting their faces.
One male volunteer said the cramping pain felt awful. "The pain added up little by little and at the end it feels like you're being repeatedly punched from the inside out," he said.
Female viewers responded with warm feedback, suggesting that this kind of activity should be promoted nationwide.
"Although guys won't feel the same pain as women, it indicates that men are starting to have more understanding of women," commented a netizen on China's Twitter-like Sina Weibo.
According to the organizer, the event takes aim at gender discrimination by informing male that having periods pain is normal.
"We hope that every woman can take out their period pads as normally as if they are taking out a cellphone," the organizer said.
