The Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts in South China's Guangdong Province hosted a five-day-long academic week which included a series of forums, lectures and exhibitions for researchers and artists.
A forum about sculpture and public art on Tuesday aimed to discuss the art approaches in the East and West as Westernization and Dewesternization is a common issue Asian artists must deal with.
The forum also invited a number of scholars from the US, South Korea and Japan to join in on discussions about modern sculpture education.
The Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts also unveiled a sculpture exhibition featuring works from China and South Korea. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the exhibition, which includes 154 artworks from the two countries, is being hosted in Guangzhou and is also available online.
