The two-day session of the third round of China-US Strategic and Economic Dialogue was held in Washington D.C. Monday and has as theme: "build a comprehensive and mutual economic partnership between China and the US," domestic media Chinanews.com reported.
The Chinese delegation is led by vice premier Wang Qishan and state councilor Dai Bingguo to talk as representatives of President Hu Jintao with the special representatives of Barack Obama including secretary of state Hillary Clinton and Treasury Secretary Geithner.
The two parties will discuss topics on boosting trade and investment cooperation between the two nations; strengthening financial regulations and improving the financial system; pushing forward restructuring and changing of the mode of economic development and encouraging a stable, continuous, and balanced growth of both economies, including matters on the global macro-economic situation, sovereign-debt crisis in Europe, influences Mid-east and North-Africa situation bring to the world, among others. RMB exchange rate problem is also an important topic of the dialogue.
