China's Guangzhou and Denmark's Copenhagen were awarded the hosting rights of the 2013 and 2014 world badminton championships, according to the official website of Badminton World Federation(BWF) on Friday.
The 2013 Sudirman Cup will be hosted by Malaysia's Kuala Lumpur.
"Following the conclusion of the BWF Council in New Zealand's Queenstown this afternoon, results for the host cities election of the 2013 and 2014 World Championships, as well as, the 2013 Sudirman Cup are now confirmed,"the world badminton governing body said on its website.
Three cities, including Guangzhou, Copenhagen and Macau, made bid for the 2013 world championships, while the last two cities also contested for the 2014 edition. Kuala Lumpur became the only city to bid for the 2013 Sudirman Cup as Australia's Melbourne quitted several days before.
All four cities presented their bids to the BWF Council on Thursday.
Copenhagen has held the badminton worlds three times before, while Guangzhou and Kuala Lumpur never hosted respective events before.
