A 48-year-old farmer in Jiangjin of Southwest China's Chongqing used more than 20,000 bamboo strips to create an exquisite attic that is 76 centimeters high and 77 centimeters wide.
The maker, Yuan Zhongwan from Zhuanshanping community, says he made the product without using any nails or glue.
"There are total 38 windows, and each of them can open," Yuan describes.
Carpenter Ding Guangde, 72, a veteran in his trade, says the attic is an excellent work of craftsmanship.
Most did not believe Yuan could complete the task, but that did not stop him from buying all of the bamboo, drills and knives to fulfill his dream.
"I used to be a carpenter, chef and vendor, and I wanted to use my skills to do something unique and interesting," Yuan says.
He began in 2009, and chose to replicate the Forbidden City attic, which he modeled after photos his daughter gathered.
Even the replicas of the animals adorning the attic are present, and they are about one centimeter long, needing a magnifying glass to be seen.
