In the latest case of air rage, a man who cracked a glass door at the boarding gate and incited other passengers to blockade the apron at Beijing Capital International Airport Saturday was detained by police, the Beijing News reported yesterday.
The man had waited for four hours for a delayed Beijing-Hangzhou flight on Saturday afternoon, when he broke down and hit the glass door with his luggage. He shouted "blockade the apron and airport." Many passengers joined with him, smashing equipment at the boarding gate, according to a witness surnamed Zhang. Airport employees failed to calm him down, and called police.
Wang has been put into detention for 15 days and given a fine of 500 yuan ($78.5).
