Wildlife officials under the auspices of the government of the Gambia in West Africa has issues a stern warning against illegal hunting in protected areas and the forest zones in order to preserve the country natural resources and wild animals, which have been now under threat by hunters, officials said on Thursday.

According to the Gambia minister of Forestry and Environment Hon Fatou Gaye, illegal hunting in protected areas and forest zones is illegal and should be stop to preserve the country natural resources and wild animals.

"We will not allow unscrupulous people to destroy the country natural resources for their own personal interest".

Gambia before have lot of different endangered spices and wild animals but sadly not today, due to illegal hunting and bushfire that have threaten the natural resources of the nation, but this time there is no compromised, minister Gaye warned.

Nine guns were recently confiscated by the wildlife officials from the illegal hunters in the Central River Region of the Gambia.

The culprits were involved in illegal hunting which is against the wildlife act 2003, and the case has been put before the court.
