A survey of 319 executives in Austria, Germany and Switzerland on the economic future of Europe has revealed that 60 percent are "concerned" and 12 percent fear worldwide recession.

The survey, titled "Is the Euro-crisis threatening our economy?" was conducted by Kloepfel Consulting, with the results released via press release on Tuesday, the Austrian Press Agency reported.

"The survey shows that Germany and Austria must urgently re-think their economic strategies, in order to expose risks," said Marc Kloepfel, CEO of Kloepfel Austria, as only 3 percent of companies surveyed were Swiss ones.

In the paper and printing industry 100 percent of the executives surveyed were concerned about the euro crisis, in the electronic, automobile, and supply industry 82 percent, and in mechanical engineering 81 percent.

Less than 30 percent of the executives interviewed believed the euro crisis had been satisfactorily resolved, and 12 percent were worried that recession could take hold worldwide.

Other concerns were stricter credit regulations and bank collapses, as well as increased inflation.
