Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak is leading a delegation to attend the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) meetings to be held in Russia later this week, where he will talk with other leaders on potential cooperation on various issues such as trade and investment, Malaysian Foreign Ministry said Tuesday.
Najib will be accompanied by several cabinet ministers and senior government officials to attend the 20th Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Economic Leaders Meeting, the ministry said in a statement.
Najib, who is also holding the Finance Minister portfolio, would speak on a series of topics, such as liberalizing trade and investment, expanding regional economic integration, strengthening food security, establishing reliable supply chains and fostering innovative growth, the statement said.
He will also explore ways for further cooperation among APEC member economies in these areas.
During the summit, the Malaysian prime minister is schedule to hold bilateral meetings with Russian President Vladimir Putin and other leaders of the APEC members, the statement said.
