Gambia and Dominica has established diplomatic relations and agreed to boost bilateral cooperation, the Foreign Ministry announced Saturday.

The two sides "have decided to establish diplomatic relations with effect from 26th July 2012," the ministry said, noting that both parties are "desirous of developing and strengthening relations of friendship and mutually beneficial cooperation."

The governments of Gambia and Dominica are fully convinced that the move corresponds to the wish of both states, the ministry said.

They have also agreed to promote cooperation on a wide range of issues, including infrastructure, trade and agriculture, added the ministry.
