Guards at Jinling Institute of Technology in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province, called police Saturday, reporting blood and some suspicious persons on the fourth floor of a school building. But when the police rushed to the scene, it proved to be a false alarm.

While police did find what appeared to be blood and twisted limbs scattered on the floor, the "suspicious persons" looked relaxed and even laughed out loud at the sight of the police.

Upon investigation, the police discovered that there was no cause for alarm. The scene was created by students from Nanjing University of the Arts and Nanjing Normal University as part of a micro film they were making called "Resident Evil." In addition to fake blood and detached limbs, other film props included guns, helmets and body armor.

The guards said they were horrified by the gory scene, having had no idea that the students were simply making a film. Though the students had notified building staff that they would be shooting a horror film, none of the guards on duty had been told.

In the end, the police took the nine students to the police station for a statement and then let them go.

This is not the only such incident to take place in Nanjing recently. Just a few days before, police in the city's Confucian Temple area received a call saying that three young men were pointing guns at another man. Upon arrival, the police found that there appeared to be no such life-threatening situation.

The four young people were questioned and said that they were college students making a video for one of their classes. The police took the four students to the police station, where they verified that they were indeed telling the truth.

After the incident, the four students realized their behavior was improper and said they would learn from the mistake. Police confiscated their props according to the law.
