China on orange alert for blizzards
China on November 4 continued to warn against blizzards, hiking the alert to the second-highest level on snowstorms that are expected to hit northern regions over the next few days.

Emergency response
China Meteorological Administration (CMA) initiated a level four emergency response on November 3. The related departments, institutions and meteorological bureaus in Inner Mongolia, Hebei, Shanxi and Beijing are asked to enter emergency response state.
Snow warning
Beijing released a citywide orange alert and regional red warning on blizzard early morning on November 4 as a cold spell swept across northern China.
Heating system
The city's central heating system will kick in November 4, 11 days earlier than normal.
Snow clearing devices
There are 5,776 snow clearing devices on standby to clear the streets, and the city has prepared 22,000 tons of snow-melting agent.
Hebei: Temperatures in the province will fall in the following two days. The lowest temperature in the northern areas in Bashang Prairie will drop to minus 13 degrees Celsius.
Inner Mongolia: Rainfall and snow have caused several rear-end collisions on expressways in the region.
Shanxi: Local governments have given notice to relevant departments to firmly fix billboards, canopies and fences in place. The environmental sanitation department of Taiyuan has stored 2,100 tonnes of snow-melting agent to cope with large amounts of snow.

Wear long underwear
It's fine if those young girls have cars or just shop all day, because they are in heated places. But if that's not the case, they should wear long underwear.
Get acclimatized to cold
Chinese people should no longer follow the traditional advice of wearing fewer layers of clothes as the winter starts in order to get acclimatized to the cold, and keep wearing warm layers of clothes even as the spring comes in order not to shock the body by shedding layers too suddenly.

Avoid riding bikes and outdoor activities
Do not ride bicycles and participate in outdoor, high-altitude activities.
