Five were killed during Christmas holidays in Madagascar, a statement from the biggest public Hospital Joseph Ravoahangy Andrianavalona (HJRA) said on Wednesday.

On Monday, a bandit, who just rubbed a foreigner in the capital Antananarivo, was shot dead by the police during his escaping, the statement fron HJRA said in Antananarivo.

177 others were admitted to hospital for other reasons as traffic accidents, suicide attempts, brawling, and armed attacks, the statement said.
