Three army men died after a military helicopter crashed in Myitkyina, Myanmar's northernmost Kachin State, on Friday evening, according to official sources Saturday.

Those killed were two air force pilots and one sergeant.

It happened that the helicopter, returning to the Myitkyina air force base after concluding regional security and administrative matters, made an emergency landing into a forest due to engine failure, 20 miles (48 kilometers) south of the state's capital Myitkyina, the official sources said.

Other helicopter carrying rescue crews have arrived at the spot to do rescue works.
