President Vladimir Putin and Jordanian King Abdallah II will meet on Tuesday in Moscow, discussing Russia's possible participation in building Jordan's first nuclear power plant.
"The heads of state will consider prospects for implementing large-scale joint projects," a Kremlin statement said Tuesday, adding that the negotiation will center on economic issues.
"Primarily they will discuss the possibility of Russian participation in the construction of the first nuclear power plant in the kingdom," the statement said.
Projects for infrastructure construction and extraction of minerals were also among the topics. An agreement to launch a bilateral commission on economic, scientific and technological cooperation will be signed, according to the statement.
Bilateral trade between Russia and Jordan grew 22 percent year on year to $ 426.5 million in 2012, official data showed.
King Abdallah II, in his 10th visit to Russia since 2001, will also discuss international affairs with Putin, including the Syrian conflict and the Israeli-Palestinian peace process.
