Tests on samples of frozen beef products sold in Greece originating from Romania have shown traces of undeclared horsemeat, Greek authorities said here on Thursday.
According to the EFET, the samples come from frozen meat products distributed across Greece from the Zikoudi Vassiliki company.
It is the first time that the Greek Food Authority (EFET) verified the presence of horsemeat traces in products in Greece since the start of the scandal across Europe.
As inspections continue, IKEA Hellas also said that after the withdrawal of meatballs designed for the Swedish furniture giant from various European countries, the firm would withdraw for precautionary reasons all meat products on sale in Greece produced by the same Swedish company.
