Greek government spokesman Simos Kedikoglou strongly condemned on Friday the second fire bomb attack on his brother's home in Athens in two months.
Unknown arsonists targeted Giorgos Kedikoglou's house with a makeshift explosive device made of gas canisters in the early hours of Friday, according to police.
On January 12 this year, the three-floor building came under a similar attack, while the family was inside. No injuries, but material damage occurred in both incidents.
No group has claimed responsibility for the latest attack so far. An anarchist group had claimed responsibility for January's.
"The continuous cowardice attacks against relatives are outrageous. The repeated terrorization of infants is exasperating," Simos Kedikoglou said on Friday, calling on the political class to condemn all attempts to terrorize democracy.
Local guerilla groups have regularly targeted political, police and financial figures for decades. Since the start of the Greek debt crisis in late 2009, which has brought the country at the brink of default, they have linked several attacks with the financial developments.
This week, on Wednesday evening, unknown assailants hit with a similar device the residence of a Greek ship owner near the Acropolis hill.
In January they targeted the homes of five Greek journalists and offices of the two main parties which have ruled the country for decades. They opened fire at the ruling party headquarters and a bomb exploded inside a shopping mall.
