A former vice governor of Anhui Province is under investigation for alleged disciplinary violations, the Xinhua News Agency quoted the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection as saying on Tuesday.
The case of Ni Fake, who is probed for "suspected serious disciplinary offenses," is the latest instance of a high-level clampdown on corruption.
It comes after China's new leaders proclaimed that tackling corruption was a key policy, with President Xi Jinping saying there would be "no leniency" for wrongdoing.
