Three people have died of rabies in 2013 in Beijing, with the latest case involving an elderly man who died the day after he was taken to Beijing Ditan Hospital, the Beijing Youth Daily reports.
Doctors recommend that anybody who has been bitten by a dog should seek medical attention immediately afterwards so that the rabies vaccine can be administered. According to statistics from the Beijing Centers for Diseases Control and Prevention, 10 dog bite incidents have been reported this year, involving more than 58 victims; seven of the cases took place in May and June.
