China is ready to work with Kazakhstan to implement the important consensus reached by the two countries' heads of state and push forward their military relations, a senior Chinese military official said Thursday.
Fan Changlong, vice chairman of the Central Military Commission of China, spoke during a meeting with Prime Minister Serik Akhmetov.
China and Kazakhstan have enjoyed a long-standing, good-neighborly relationship and are true friends and partners, Fan said.
Chinese President
Xi Jinping and his Kazakh counterpart Nursultan Nazarbayev held talks and reached important consensus in April, injecting fresh vitality into the two countries' comprehensive strategic partnership, Fan added.
For his part, Akhmetov said it is in the fundamental interests of Kazakhstan and China to strengthen their pragmatic cooperation in various fields.
He voiced his hope that the two sides would make concerted efforts to boost bilateral relations.
Earlier in the day, Fan also held talks with Defense Minister Adilbek Dzhaksybekov. Both sides vowed to lift the two countries' military ties to a new level.
