The man who allegedly hurled a baby girl onto the ground in Beijing was indicted by the capital's prosecutor's office on suspicion of intentional homicide on Tuesday, the No.1 Branch of the Beijing People's Procuratorate said on Wednesday.
Han Lei was suspected of lifting the 2-year-old baby from her carriage and hurling her onto the ground in Daxing district on July 23.
The baby died after two days of medical treatment.
The suspect and another man, Li Ming, also beat up the mother, and said she had blocked the way of their car.
Li was also indicted for making Han flee the scene, said prosecutors.
Prosecutors said Han will be given a heavy punishment as he was once sentenced for theft.
