Belarusian club Minsk lost 2-0 to Belgium's R. Standard de Liegein in the first leg of the Europa League playoff on Thursday in Grodno, Belarus.

In the first half Standard attacked more and had some good moments for a goal while Minsk mostly played on the counterattack.

At the 56th minute Michy Batshuayi opened the scoring for the visitors and at the end of the second time Frederic Bulot made it two up.

The return game will be held in Belgium on August 29.

The winner of the qualifying matches will reach the Europa League group stage whose first matches will be held on Sept. 19.
