Since 2003, Chad has produced and supplied over 500 million barrels of crude oil valued at over 10.2 billion US dollars to the international market.
The announcement was made on Thursday by Christian Lenoble, director general for Tchad Oil Transportation Co. (TOTCO) and Cameroon Oil Transportation Co. (COTCO), the two Chadian and Cameroonian companies charged with transporting Chad's crude oil.
Lenoble was speaking in N'Djamena during the Chad International Oil Mining and Energy Conference and Exhibition (CIOME 2013).
Constructed in early 2000, the 1,070 km TOTCO/COTCO pipeline links the Kome oil fields to Cameroon's port town of Kribi. It has a capacity to transport 225,000 barrels of oil per day.
