World Cup-winning coach Marcello Lippi has decided not to extend his contract with Chinese Super League's (CSL) Guangzhou Evergrande, club chairman Liu Yongzhuo confirmed Monday.

Lippi joined Guangzhou in 2012, the same year he took the club to defend the CSL title, and his contract will expire at the end of 2014.

Last year he led the club to reach a double, winning both domestic and intra-continental leagues.

Guangzhou have signed a few players in the transfer window, including Italy international Alessandro Diamanti.

Guangzhou will have their season opener against Henan Jianye on March 8.
