Germany beat defending champion Austria to win the men's large hill ski jumping team event at the Sochi Winter Olympic Games on Monday.

The German quartet of Andreas Wank, Marinus Kraus, Andreas Wellinger and Severin Freund collected 1,041.1 points to beat the Austrians by a 2.7 points.

Japan, led by silver medallist Noriaki Kasai, took bronze with 1,024.9 points.
