The first draft of Beijing subway safety law stipulates that passengers who eat in subway elevators, walkways and carriages can be fined up to 500 yuan ($82.31), the Beijing Times reported.
Beijing is not the only city in China which prohibits eating in the subway. In Hong Kong, people who eat in the subway area can be fined HK$2,000 ($257.88).
Other regulations state that guide dogs wearing the special harness can enter the subway and that people who forcefully barge in and out of subway carriages will be fined.
