Ukrainian cross country skier Marina Lisogor has tested positive for a banned substance during the Sochi Winter Olympic Games, the Ukrainian Olympic Committee (UOC) said on Saturday.
The UOC said in a statement on its website that they were informed earlier by the International Olympic Committee's Disciplinary Commission that Lisogor "tested positive for the substance trimetazidine".
The substance was included into the forbidden substances' list since January 1st, 2014.
"Maryna Lisogor gave her explanation at the Disciplinary Commission meeting that she took the drug product 'Preductal' not knowing that it consists the forbidden ingredient, thus unintentionally breaking the IOC anti-doping rules," the statement said.
It was the third doping case in Sochi since two-time Olympic cross-country skiing champion Evi Sachenbacher-Stehle of Germany tested positive for the banned stimulant methylhexanamine and Italian bobsleder William Frullani was caught for the stimulant dymethylpentylamine.
