Ukraine requests Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) to send more unarmed military observers to the country, OSCE said on Tuesday.
The request follows the sending of the first unarmed observers team, which is working in Ukraine but still unable to move beyond checkpoints at the administrative border of Crimea.
The second team is supposed to visit the south and east of Ukraine, while the first group is expected to continue its work until Sunday, the organization said in a statement.
The visit is taking place under OSCE document which allows for "voluntary hosting of visits to dispel concerns about unusual military activities," OSCE noted.
The organization updated on Tuesday afternoon that 35 unarmed personnel from 21 OSCE participating states, including the United States, France, Britain, Italy and Belgium, will join the second OSCE observation mission to Ukraine.
