Indian navy has found no sign of the missing Malaysian passenger jet during their search in the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal so far, military sources said Saturday.

Despite the intensive search operation by the Indian navy for the third day Saturday to look for the jet, there has been no sighting of the missing plane anywhere in the areas expanding from the Andaman Sea to the southeast coast of India, said the sources.

"The search by the Navy and Coast Guard ships continued today. The Navy ships deployed in the operation are in contact with the On-scene-Commander on board Malaysian Navy Ship in the Straits of Malacca," it said.

"Today, three Dornier aircraft sorties were undertaken in the six degree channel, south of Carnic and the east of Andaman Group of islands. The air force aircraft, P81 and C130 J aircraft, searched the areas over Little Andaman and Port Blair."

The sources said east of Great Nicobar Island, two Coast Guard Ships conducted search east of Kamorta and east coast of Andaman group of islands from Diglipur to Rangat. Besides, three Dornier Sorties conducted flight over the land from north to south of the complete Andaman and Nicobar Archipelago.

The lone integrated command in the country, the Andaman and Nicobar Command, launched this week a massive search operation code named Operation Search Light to search for the MH370 that has vanished for one week.

Indian navy has widened search area to the Bay of Bengal up to the coast of Tamil Nadu state at the request of the Malaysian government.
