Vietnam's
Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development on Tuesday held a ceremony to officially launch the country's fishery control force in central Da Nang Province.
The ceremony drew participation of Vietnamese Prime Minister ( PM) Nguyen Tan Dung, Deputy PM Hoang Trung Hai, and officials from Vietnam's ministries and coastal localities, state-run news agency VNA reported on Tuesday.
Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy PM Hoang Trung Hai affirmed that the establishment of Vietnam's fishery control force is of great importance to lay foundation for managing exploitation and ensuring sustainable seafood resources as well as safety for local fishermen and vehicles in Vietnam's waters.
"Under our responsibility, duty and power, Vietnamese government will pay attention, support, and create favorable conditions for Vietnam's fishery control force to fulfill its tasks," said Hai at the ceremony.
Vietnam's fishery control force is organized from central to regional levels, with Fishery Protection Department's headquarter in capital Hanoi and four regional sub-departments.
These sub-departments are responsible for directly carrying out petrol, inspection, control, discovery and handling law violations as well as supporting local fishermen, according to VNA.
