Guo Yongxiang, a former Sichuan provincial official, has been stripped of his Communist Party of China (CPC) membership and expelled from public office for serious law and discipline violations, the CPC discipline watchdog announced on April 9.
Guo, former chairman of Sichuan's provincial federation of literary and art circles, was removed from the Party and public office, with his illegal gains being confiscated, the CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection (CCDI) announced.
The investigation found Guo had exacted profits for others with his power and personally taken bribes. Also, Guo was found to be seeking profits for his son's businesses through his power and of being morally corrupt.
The Supreme People's Procuratorate also announced on Wednesday that they have also filed illegal investigation into Guo for accepting bribes.
