India's two air companies which fly international flights, Air India and Jet Airways, Friday stopped using the Ukrainian airspace following the crashing of a Malaysian airliner that claimed 298 lives Thursday, said aviation sources.
The Indian government Friday also asked Air India to avoid flying over the troubled Ukrainian airspace in the wake of the Malaysian plane crash in which some 295 people were killed. All the 298 people on board that ill-fated Malaysia Airlines flight MH17 from Amsterdam to Kaula Lumpur were killed.
