A Greek Air Force aircraft crashed Tuesday during a military exercise in a mountainous area in northern Greece near the city of Komotini, local authorities said.

The pilot managed to eject from the A7 Corsair type light attack aircraft on time and was safe, military sources said, adding that the Greek Air Force fleet includes some aged aircraft which often have technical problems.
