World No. 1 Lee Chong Wei of Malaysia stormed into the semifinals of the ongoing BWF World Championships after beating his Chinese rival Wang Zhengming in two straight sets on Friday.
Lee, set to win his first world title as his long-time rival Lin Dan was absent from the game, took easy control of the match with a one-sided victory of 21-8 and 21-11.
Wang said he was not satisfied with his game although he clearly knew the gap between him, seeded 6th, and the Malaysian player.
Before he netted his long-desired title, Lee has to defeat home favorite Viktor Axelsen, who entered the semifinals after edging off Chou Tien Chen of Chinese Taipei 21-14, 21-14.
Should he wins in next match, Lee will further face the winner between China's Chen Long and Indonesia's Tommy Sugiarto at the final, scheduled on Sunday.
Chen, seeded 2nd, eliminated Son Wan Ho of South Korea, 21-14, 12-21, 21-17, while Sugiarto reached the last four after a struggling win of 22-20, 21-19 against Eric Pang of the Netherlands.
