"I hope Lee Chong Wei will come back to court as soon as possible." Chinese badminton superstar Lin Dan said on Wednesday in Fuzhou at 2014 Badminton China Open, part of BWF super-series.
Lin felt sorry for Lee' s doping scandal. "Not only Malaysian need him, but the whole badminton world also need him." Lin said after his match against Hsu Jen Hao from Chinese Taipei in the first round of the event.
BWF confirmed on Tuesday Malaysian top badminton player Lee Chong Wei has been provisionally suspended over an apparent anti-doping regulation violation.
Lin-Lee clash has been regarded as the top games in badminton. The two met for 33 times since 2004. Lin keeps 24-9 winning records. Lee' s scandal may ruin the top clash series, which is a tough fact for fans to accept.
Li Yongbo, head coach of Chinese National Badminton Team, told the press that he did not believe that Lee would intentionally use illegal drugs to enhance his performance.
"I hope Lee' s scandal is not real." Li said, "because I still want to see the Lin-Lee rivalary. They always bring the great matches to the fans."
Lin beats Hsu Jen Hao, 21-15, 23-21. Top-seeded Chen Long also advanced to second round easily, winning over Tien Minh Nguyen from Vietnam 21-17, 21-8.
